TIGHE Trucking recently opened a relay operation located in Elizabeth, New Jersey. This relay operation will allow TIGHE to better service its customers throughout the northeast by enabling the relay and continuous movement of customer loads that would otherwise be delayed due to new hours of service regulations.
Paul O’Shea, Vice President of Transportation for TIGHE says, “The relay operation will provide us with a distinct competitive advantage over other carriers by giving us the ability to eliminate up to one day of transit time from both LTL and TL shipments that originate in certain Mid Atlantic points that are destined to points throughout New England”. Shipments picked up by drivers who cannot continue to New England without their required rest stop will relay their loads to drivers based in New Jersey who will continue the move on to the final destination.
