Founded
in 1862 as T. Tighe Sons, Inc. by Thomas Tighe, our company began
it existence by providing horse and wagon drayage services to
various steamship companies that called on the Port of Boston.
Under Thomas’ leadership, T. Tighe Sons grew to be the largest
drayage provider in the entire city.
Throughout the years, the company continued to grow exclusively
as a transportation entity until the early 1960’s when John
F. Tighe, Sr. (our current CEO) saw an opportunity to grow the
business by expanding its offerings to include warehousing services.
Since that time, the company has further diversified and has grown
to be one of the largest full service third party logistics organizations
in the northeastern United States.
Today, the TIGHE organization is still family owned and operated
and is made up of the following operating companies:
